DJ Viscera

Viscera began aurally assaulting the unsuspecting public in 1999, after a customer of the underground music store she worked at offered her a spot at a dark ambient warehouse gig. Since then she's pressed play at various Melbourne clubs, and spent two years hosting a radio show on PBS106.7FM called Blacklight, interviewing musicians such as Lisa Gerrard and Nitzer Ebb. She's been writing for various music publications such as Fiend magazine since 2003, organised the first Melbourne Zombie Shuffle, and recently spent time doing audio and lighting for a live theatre show.

When not swearing at her attempts to climb into a DJ booth whilst wearing inappropriate footwear, Viscera spends her time studying archaeology, linguistics, English and cinema studies. She has a fondness for books, high teas, Deadwood and classic Peugeots. She wishes she could be Emma Peel from The Avengers, but lacks both the basic motor co-ordination and the catsuit.

Previous gigs: Cabaret Nocturne, Revelations, Carmilla's, Cybernoise, Heresy, Blue Velvet, PBS [Blacklight], Golgotha, Blitz, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Cyberball, Gulag, Sanctuary, Ceremony and DV8.

Preferred genres: Post-punk, Industrial, Old-school Goth, Retro, and Rococo-tinged post-apocalyptic tribal crossover.
